MORETON BAY BUGS
The local variety of Moreton Bay Bugs are the best. The bugs are labeled "small", "Medium" or "large" based on their measurement across the head. To make it easier for you to order - large bugs average 5 to the kilo, medium average 8 to the kilo and small average 12 to the kilo.

The local Bugs are best prepared simply boiled or cut in half and barbequed. Our fisherman say while they are very lobster like in flavour, they are much softer and sweeter.

MORETON BAY BUG MEAT
Bug Meat represents a cost effective method of sampling this fantastic tropical fare and although you don't get the impressive shell (popular at dinner parties) you also don't have the additional weight and freight costs associated by disposing of the shell.

Bug Meat can be prepared by frying in butter, grain mustard and garlic. The meat is very delicate and one should be careful not to overcook
