| All the Mud Crabs supplied by Cairns Ocean
Products are sourced locally - along the tropical coast from
Cardwell to The Culf. A major area for the Mud Crabs is
Princess Charlotte Bay. We also have a fisherman in The
Trinity Inlet in Cairns every day. It is illegal in
Queensland to catch or sell female Mud Crabs, so all our stock
are therefore male.
Mud Crabs are traditionally in shorter supply during the
Tropical Wet Season when we have higher tides, allowing the
crabs to move higher into the mangroves along the coast. The
crabs become plentiful after the Wet Season from March
onwards. They are available live, fresh cooked or frozen
cooked. |
